Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 8, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how SkyHopp uses cookies and similar browser-storage technologies (such as localStorage) when you visit our website. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
A “cookie” is a small text file stored in your browser when you visit a website. “Local storage” is a similar mechanism that lets websites keep data in your browser between visits. Both stay on your device and only the originating website can read them.
2. What SkyHopp stores
SkyHopp does not set any tracking cookies of its own. We only use browser localStorage for the following strictly-necessary purposes:
Essential storage
- Cookie-consent state (
skyhopp_cookie_consent_v1) — remembers that you have dismissed our cookie notice so it isn’t shown on every visit. - Cached flight prices (
skyhopp_prices_v2_<origin>) — stores the cheapest fares returned by our backend for up to one hour, so the map loads instantly on repeat visits.
Third-party services
Some services we rely on may set their own cookies or local storage:
- Mapbox stores minimal data needed to render map tiles and remember your session on the map. See the Mapbox privacy policy.
- Vercel Analytics / Speed Insights — privacy-friendly, cookie-less analytics that measures aggregate traffic and performance.
- Aviasales — when you click through to book, Aviasales may set cookies on its own domain. This happens afteryou leave our site and is governed by Aviasales’ own policy.
3. How to manage cookies and storage
You can clear stored data at any time:
- Chrome / Edge:Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data → See all site data → search “skyhopp” → Remove.
- Firefox:Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data → search “skyhopp” → Remove Selected.
- Safari:Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → search “skyhopp” → Remove.
You can also disable JavaScript or use private-browsing mode to prevent storage entirely, but note that SkyHopp will still load your origin-airport preferences from scratch on every visit.
4. Do Not Track
We honour the spirit of Do Not Track by not running third-party advertising or cross-site tracking. Our analytics provider is cookie-less by design.
5. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy if we change the technologies we use. Check the “Last updated” date above for the current version.
